The Park is located on Route 25.  Take I-64 from Charleston, Exit at Dunbar and turn right,  Then right onto Route 25. Park located 1.5 miles on left.

Park Hours:  Dawn until dusk year round.Boat Ramp: Access to the Kanawha River is located at the end of King Street.

Golf Course:  Course rating; back 69.7, slope 111, middle 67.3, slope 106.  Nine hole regulation golf course and pro shop.  Open time depends on the time of year and season.  Closes at dusk.

Swimming Pool:  Opens on Memorial Day weekend (closed through the week until school lets out) through Labor Day, weather permitting.  Hours are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.  We reserve the right to close because of inclement weather or other reasons that may be out of our control.

Asphalt Tennis Courts:  Free of charge.  Opens at 7:30 AM until dusk, year round.

Athletic Field:  Open at 7:30 AM until 10:00 PM weekly.  Reservations April through November. $45.00 per day.

 

Basketball Courts:  Open at 7:30 AM until dusk, year round.  Four courts available for free play.

Large Playground:  Available for all ages to enjoy.  Includes spring animals, swings and play structure.

Picnic Shelter Areas:  8:00 AM until disk.  Eight shelters available to reserve.  For reservations please call 304. 341.8030. Group arm bands are available.

Prices:  Range from $15 - $70.  Capacity for 8 - 96 people.

Kanawha County Parks has shelters available to reserve at Coonskin, Shawnee, Meadowood and Pioneer Park.  Shelters may be reserved from April 1 through October 31st.

Kanawha County Parks begins taking shelter reservations (by phone only), for the current year on the second Monday in January of each year.  Please call the Administrative Office at 341-8000 to make reservations.  Administrative Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.  Office closed weekends and holidays.

Please phone the Administrative Office for information on reserving the Pioneer Park shelter.

When a picnic shelter is reserved you have the shelter from 8:00 a.m. to dusk.

Miniature Golf at Coonskin Park is located next to the Family Center.  Rate is $2.00 per person.

Pedal Boats at Coonskin Park are located at Herscher Lake in front of the Family Center.  Rate is $4.00 for up to 4 people or less, per boat, per ½ hour.

Coonskin Pool rates are $2.50 for Adults and $1.50 for Children 12 and under.  Please phone the Administrative Office for days of operation and hours.

Armbands are available for groups.  There is a minimum purchase of 35 bands and only a refund for armbands returned in excess of 35.

Rates:  Unlimited Pedal Boats and Miniature Golf                                $4.00 per band
            Unlimited Pedal Boats, Miniature Golf & Swimming                  $6.00 per band

Prices for all activities are subject to change.

Armbands are not available for Shawnee Pool.

Fishing at Coonskin’s Herscher Lake is for Class Q License (Handicapped) and Children ages 10 and under only, March through May.  Open fishing is June through February.
